What is Project Elf?
Here at Project Elf, we're all about delivering a little Christmas spirit to those who need it over the holidays - in the shape of delicious festive baking!
We bake the cupcakes, volunteers make beautiful toppers and decorations, and our team of delivery elf volunteers delivers the cupcakes all over Wellington on Christmas Eve and Christmas day! We visit many different deserving places - NICU, ICU, A&E, Childrens hospital, Ronald McDonald house, Hospice, Fire Service, Emergency Response, Police station - and many more!
How did we start?
Inspired by the hard work of the staff in the NICU, and the stories of those who spent countless days and weeks - including Christmas! - visiting their babies there, Project Elf was born in 2013.
Becs and her volunteer elves baked, decorated and delivered 150 cupcakes to the NICU in Wellington, and were so inspired by the outpouring of love, offers of support, and suggestions of places to visit next year, that they decided it was time to grow! Very excited to be in our 13th year!
